How the “Not read” label is cleared in Bitrix24

A Bitrix24 deal card shows the label “Chat with client: Not read”. It tells you whether the deal has a client message the responsible manager has not read yet.

  1. The label stays until the deal’s responsible manager has read the client’s message. When the responsible opens the chat in Dialogs, the label is cleared. If another employee opens it, the label stays: the responsible has not seen the message yet.
  2. When the client writes again, Bitrix24 itself brings “Not read” back until the responsible reads the new message. So the label shows at a glance which deals have something unread and which are fully read.

Read on the phone. If a manager reads the message right in WhatsApp on the phone, Dialogs cannot know who read it, so the label is cleared on behalf of the deal’s responsible. This is a separate switch and it is off by default. Works only for WhatsApp numbers on Evolution Go. While it is off, the chat must be opened in Dialogs.

If the responsible has no Bitrix24 sign-in of their own in Dialogs, the label is cleared by the main account the app was installed with. The deal’s responsible does not change.

Lines where Bitrix24 changes the responsible when a chat is accepted. This is a separate switch and it is off by default. The main account accepts the chat, puts the previous responsible back on the deal, contact and company, and only then clears the label. Each card is handled separately. If another employee changed the responsible in the meantime, or anyone cannot be put back, that other decision is not overwritten, the remaining responsibles are still put back, and on that line the mechanism stops and the chat is not marked read. The deal history shows the responsible changing there and back.

Lines where Bitrix24 sends the client a message when a chat is accepted are not touched, so the client gets nothing extra.

Dialogs → Integrations → the Bitrix24 connection

Three switches: “Read in WhatsApp — read in Bitrix” (off by default), “Installer key clears “Not read”” (on by default) and “On lines where Bitrix changes the responsible when a chat is accepted, put the previous responsible back” (off by default). The last one works only while the second is on.
