Calls only: questions, Meta limits and what is not supported

Can I write to customers with «Calls only»?

No. There are no chats in the app, and no message goes out over such a line: the system answers «This line sells calls only — it carries no messaging.» The only message is the call permission request on an official line. If you need messaging, change the plan to «Messaging and calls»: prices.

How many calls can I make a day?

On an official line Meta allows up to 100 completed outgoing calls in 24 hours per number. Incoming calls are not counted.

What do Meta calls cost?

Incoming calls are free. Outgoing calls from an official number are billed by the minute with a 6-second step, at a rate set by the called party's country. There is no Meta fee on our line (ordinary WhatsApp).

Where are official outgoing calls unavailable?

In the USA, Canada, Egypt, Vietnam and Nigeria a business cannot call first. Incoming calls from customers work there. Kazakhstan is not restricted.

The customer does not see the call icon in the chat

After calls are turned on for an official number, the icon appears for customers not at once — it can take up to 7 days. If a call to the number goes through anyway, everything works.

Why does an official line not call in coexistence mode?

Such a number stays in the WhatsApp Business app too. Meta does not support calls through the official interface on it. Choose our channel on the same number, or a separate official number.

The customer stopped answering and we keep calling: what happens?

After two unanswered calls in a row the customer gets a reminder, after four the permission is withdrawn: to call again, ask for it anew.
